Behind these Walls
My pixel sketches of people are monochromatic for a very good reason.
My pixel portraits operate on the boundary between reality and imagination and the monochromatic humans set against colour world backgrounds immediately creates a psychological separation. The characters appear to belong to the scene physically, yet somehow exists outside it emotionally. The black-and-white treatment almost turns the figure into a thought, memory, ghost, or internal self, while the colour environment represents the external world continuing around them.
